What a gem of a place! The owners are beyond awesome! Step back in time and stay someplace unique, historic and feel welcome. I came back from shopping and felt like saying "honey, I'm home!" when I walked in the door. I came across this place on line, but it wasn't close enough to where I had to be. I changed my trip to stay here although I wasn't sure why. Something told me I had to stay here. I'm so glad I did!! I can't say enough good things about this place!! And the food...omg...to die for! Baseball cut filet... you can't go wrong. Delicious! I plan to return just to stay here again.
Looking for a small town, happy, home feeling. We found the place. I have traveled many places being a commercial deep sea diver and in the Navy. So I like to look for unique places. The owners are welcoming from the phone to the stay. Don't be looking for modern, this place is for the experience and history. People in the town are very friendly. Make sure you grab a morning drink at the Copper leaf coffee and creamery. Both places welcome veterans with a warm heart and a great smile.
Classic hotel. Great historic atmosphere. Dinner of chicken fried steak in the dining room was superb!
Great food
The Higgins Hotel was amazing. We enjoyed their food, bar, and the historical accomodations. Some of the rooms are pet friendly. The part owner/manager, Maribel was a sweetheart. She even arranged after-hours dinner for us! The rooms kept their historical charm (the noise did travel some with the thin walls) but the super comfy beds and luxurious towels made our stay perfect. We will definitely stop here again in the future!
